Have you ever wanted to learn a little more about Josh Davis? DJ Shadow’s Josh Davis spent his early years in Hayward, California. Although many of his friends enjoyed guitars and drums, Davis broke away from what was popular and liked the turntable. While in high school, he experimented with creating beats and breaks with a four-track. He eventually went on to college, and while there, he created the Solesides label as a way to promote his own songs. In 1991, he released the Reconstructed from the Ground Up mixtapes. In 1993, he created a hip-hop symphony that he called “Entropy,” which ran just over fifteen minutes. After gaining some popularity, Mo’Wax turned his sights on Davis. Davis continued to achieve more and more success after that point, gaining quite the following. DJ Shadow I’m Excited (Remixes) is one of his releases that was popular with many individuals and put him on the map.
